Home Page : Listing of Khutbahs and Articles on the New academic year and Sacred months
Schools and universities are preparing to receive students for the new academic year. There is no doubt that this issue concerns many people, in different categories, within the community, most importantly parents and mentors.

The deliberate, steady change which has taken place in the education system, in addition to what is plotted against many of the Muslim countries, is no secret. Intentional alterations have been made in the curriculum in order to disconnect the new upcoming Muslim generations from their faith and the final divine message.

Respected brothers in Islaam! This coincides with the approach of great months, which Allaah mentioned in His Book, glorified their rank and made sacred. Therefore, it is commendable that each Muslim who loves Allaah and His Messenger sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, glorifies what Allaah glorified, and loves what He loves. Allaah says what means, "That (is so). And whoever honors the symbols (i.e. rites) of Allaah - indeed, it is from piety" (Al-Hajj: 32).

Dear brother! In order to establish this, you must know what virtue these months have, and should be aware of the distinct rulings pertaining to them.

Moreover, Khateebs should not overlook addressing this issue and should highlight the importance and virtue of these days.

Therefore, the time has come for the 'Knights of Alminbar' and the Khateebs of the Muslim nation to educate people. It is also incumbent upon them that they help people establish reverence for these months in their hearts. They should guide them to that which would benefit them concerning these days, which are indeed great in the scale of Allaah.

Likewise, they should enlighten Muslim teachers about their duty, the importance of their role, and complexity of the responsibility they shoulder. They should link students with their faith and keep in mind that their behavior, as teachers, is closely monitored by students, who are greatly affected by them. Scholars and Khateebs should emphasize on student-teacher relationship and hold teachers in an honorable position. They should encourage students to seek Islamic knowledge and be mindful of the history of our Salaf. Khateebs should expose the conspiracy that has been plotted against the youth and direct them to occupy themselves with major important issues, and not to waste their lives in trivial matters.
